Doug Rauch was CEO of Trader Joe’s for 14 years. His “retirement” venture, reported by PBS, captures wasted food and provides it to low-income consumers at affordable prices. Rauch honed the concept for Daily Table at Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Institute, where high-powered executives refocus their careers on social problems. Rauch’s nonprofit model makes fresh food and produce available to people who might not be able to afford it at market prices.
