According to a Star Tribune article, a new coalition called North@Work plans to put 40 African-American men in living-wage jobs by 2017. That effort is critical, since a 2010 study by the Economic Policy Institute showed that the jobless rate for African-Americans in the Twin Cities was more than three times higher than that of whites.
